Leader of Year 12 Wellbeing

Mr Peter Robertson

Year 12 reached the end of their schooling journey with the Graduation Assembly and Mass in the final week of Term 3. It was a busy time of rehearsal, water adventures on a cold Tuesday at Jamberoo Action Park and then the big, formal farewell, celebration and thanksgiving on Wednesday, 24 September. Lessons had concluded the previous Friday with games and a great atmosphere on the Oval, followed by a beautiful Guard of Honour from the staff and younger students as Year 12 processed out the gate.

As I write this report, we are in Week 3 of the HSC Examinations, due to conclude on Friday, 7 November. The students have been remarkably calm, focused and organised, keeping the nerves under control.  In speaking to many of them, they have been generally happy about the papers with very few issues. This is a good sign as we look ahead to the release of results in mid-December.

We also look forward to the Formal on Friday, 14 November at Doltone House (Darling Island, Pyrmont). This will be a night to dress up, celebrate with friends and family and think back on the last two years of memories at St Aloysius College Cronulla. It is also a time to embrace the future and officially enter the adult world of post-school life.

Sign Out will take place at the College from Monday, 10 to Wednesday, 12 November.

Thank you to all concerned for a wonderful finish to Year 12 over the last few weeks. It has been the culmination of thirteen years of education and a huge team effort from parents, extended family, teachers, coaches and countless other influential people during this time. It is hard to believe that it is only eight weeks until Christmas so I wish everyone the best for the inevitably crazy time ahead and thank you all for your support.
