Leader of Year 8 Wellbeing

Miss Rebecca Hines

Welcome back to Term 4, Year 8! We hope you had a restful break and are feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the final stretch of the school year. This term is all about finishing strong, and one of the key milestones ahead is your Assessment Block in Weeks 5 and 6.

Assessment Block: Let’s Get Prepared!

Your exams are spread across two weeks, giving you time to focus and revise for each subject. Here’s what’s coming up:

Week 5 Exam Schedule

  • Monday 10 Nov – English (Period 3, Hall)
  • Tuesday 11 Nov – PDHPE (Period 1, Hall)
  • Wednesday 12 Nov – Science (Period 3, Hall)
  • Thursday 13 Nov – Geography (Period 1, Hall)
  • Friday 14 Nov – Religious Education (Period 3, Hall)

Week 6 Exam Schedule

  • Monday 17 Nov – Mathematics (Period 1, Hall)
  • Tuesday 18 Nov – Spanish (Period 1, Hall)
  • Wednesday 19 Nov – St Mary’s Cathedral Excursion

When you're not sitting an exam, you’ll continue with your regular timetabled lessons. This means you need to keep bringing your books and stay engaged!

 Top Tips for Exam Success

  • Start Early: Begin revising now! Little and often is better than cramming.
  • Use Your Resources: Class notes, revision guides, and practice questions are your best friends.
  • Ask for Help: If you're unsure about anything, speak to your teachers. We’re here to support you.
  • Stay Balanced: Make time for rest, movement, and fun. Your wellbeing matters too.
  • Stay Organised: Use a planner or calendar to track your study sessions and exam dates.

What’s the Goal?

These assessments help you consolidate your learning and show how far you’ve come this year. They’re also a great opportunity to build confidence and exam skills before heading into Year 9.

Let’s make Term 4 one to remember- full of effort, growth, and celebration. You’ve got this, Year 8!
