Stage 2 News

Year 3

It has been a very busy and exciting few weeks in Year 3! Students have been developing their confidence and public speaking skills by hosting in-class Public Speaking competitions, proudly presenting their prepared speeches to their classmates.

We have also begun exploring our new text, Malala’s Magic Pencil, which has sparked thoughtful conversations about courage, hopes, dreams and using our voices to make a difference.

In Mathematics, students have been learning about measurement and mass. They have been developing their understanding of grams and kilograms, estimating and measuring the mass of objects, and comparing and ordering different masses. Students have enjoyed using practical, hands-on activities to apply their mathematical thinking.

Of course, we have also enjoyed celebrating Book Week, dressing up as our favourite book characters and sharing our love of reading. Year 3 students have also had a fantastic time participating in Gala Day and letting their hair down at the school disco!

It has been wonderful to see our Year 3 students embracing these opportunities, showing confidence, enthusiasm and school spirit along the way. What a busy few weeks!

Year 4

Year 4 students enjoyed an exciting Geography excursion to the Royal National Park, where they explored how places can be similar and different.

Students ventured through the bush along Honeymoon Track, observing the natural environment and developing their understanding of the features that make places unique.

They had the privilege of hearing from a Dharawal Elder, deepening their knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal connections to Country.

Students also used a range of tools to measure temperature, wind speed and light, collecting data to compare the different environments they explored.

It was a wonderful day of hands-on learning, discovery and connection to the natural world!
