Dear Mazenod Community,

It has been a time of double celebrations with the College’s 60th Anniversary as well as the 200th Anniversary of the approval of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

On 14 February we celebrated Mazenod’s 60th Anniversary with a Mass and Morning Tea that was enjoyed by many, and on 18 February, our Mazenod community gathered for our Ash Wednesday Mass and Commitment Ceremonies, including the OMI 200th. Both Masses were Moments of Grace, where everyone was given the opportunity to be grateful for the many blessings we have received and will continue to receive.

Ash Wednesday is:

A day of reflection.

A day of humility.

A day to begin again.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - a season that invites us to pause and recognise our human fragility while opening our hearts to grow in faith, hope and love.

As is tradition in the Catholic Church, students and staff received ashes on their foreheads as a reminder that life is precious and that renewal is always possible.

May this Lenten season be a time of compassion, growth and deeper connection for our community.

Take Care and God Bless

Fr Michael Twigg OMI
