Boarding News
Â
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Â
Our recent focus in Cebula Boarding has been around the recent House Swimming Carnival. It was fantastic to see such strong commitment from our boarders - especially our Year 7 boys, who participated in their very first Mazenod House Carnival. Stepping into a whole-school event like this can be daunting, but they embraced the day with great enthusiasm.
Â
Cebula finished 4th overall, and while weâre always striving to climb the ladder, the real highlight was the spirit, participation and house pride on display.
Â
There were some memorable swims, with a special shout out to our Year 11 and 12 swimmers who led from the front. Many had clearly been training to improve their performance times.
Â
It was also wonderful to see parents in attendance supporting both their sons and the wider boarding community. Your presence makes a difference and strengthens our partnership.
The boys overall have responded well to the start of our weekend activities program, and itâs great to see so many signing up to take part. This weekend, 16 boys begin a 5-lesson Learn to Surf program, while others are signed up for the Perth Aqua Park, Go Karting and the St Maryâs Year 7 Quiz Night.
Â
Looking ahead, we will soon begin our Cebula Rural Connect program, with visits in March to Tom Price, Paraburdoo, Port Hedland and Karratha, with more regional visits planned throughout the semester. Iâm really looking forward to meeting with our current, past and future Cebula families - these connections are so important to our boarding community.
Â
We are all working towards the Boarders' Long Weekend, with the Boarding House closing at 5:00pm on Thursday, 26 February and reopening on Monday, 2 March at 3:00pm.
