Year 11 Retreat

Wednesday, 30th July – Friday, 1st August 2025

Choices from the Heart

Last week, our Year 11 students gathered as a cohort in the stunning surrounds of Halls Gap for their retreat.  It was a time for students to pause, reflect, bond, and celebrate their journey so far.

Throughout the retreat, students were encouraged to reflect on the experiences that have shaped them; the highs and lows, and to consider how these moments have contributed to the people they are today.  They explored the power of choice, the importance of learning from mistakes, and the value of living authentically and with purpose.

A key theme of the retreat was the idea of living with heart-centered values; choosing to lead and serve with integrity, compassion and courage. Students were reminded that life is a precious gift from God, and that each of us is called to live a rich, meaningful life guided by our hearts.

The retreat also included moments of joy and connection. A lively and competitive trivia night brought laughter and fun, while the final night’s meaningful liturgy provided a space for quiet reflection.  During the liturgy, students were invited to reflect on a “saint” in their lives—someone who has made a significant impact and inspired them along their life’s journey so far.

The retreat was a powerful and memorable experience for our Year 11 students, one that will remain with them as they continue to grow, lead and flourish.
