2023 OPS Walkathon

What a SPOOKtacular Walk-a-thon we had this year. The weather was on our side and we were able to enjoy a break in the rain to walk around Wattle Grove Reserve. Well done to all students who participated and donated. We raised a total of $8075.00!!!! This amount will go towards new play equipment upgrades. An enormous effort by all!

A special thank you to the following parents for volunteering: Evelyn Setiawan, Alison Qvist, Sarah Graham, Allanagh Savva, Amy Ashford, Jenny Long, Abarna Devi Sakkaravarthi, Andy Nolan. This is just to name a few of the very helpful parents and grandparents. Many hands might light work!

A big shout out to Jana Hain and Melina Grubesic for organising a successful fundraising event for OPS!

On Monday 30th October at Assembly, we announced the prize winners. The were 4 x $30 Rebel gift vouchers – all who paid went into the draw. There were 2 Globber scooters for the 2 students ( 1 from F-2 and 1 from 3-6) who raised the most money.

Our winners were:

  • Vouchers:  Lucy (0A), Noa (1B), Joshua (3B), You (5B)

Working Bee

After much delay, we will again be holding a Working Bee on Sunday, 12 November between 09:30 and 12:00 with a sausage sizzle towards the end.

The aim of the Bee is to get our wonderful school community together to help us improve the school grounds a little bit.

Our younger students have been working hard during the Gardening club under Ms Liarakos' guidance, planting vegetables and fruit in the raised beds along Ruby street. We would like to help them enjoy this even more by doing some weeding along this area. Similarly, it would be wonderful to tidy up the grounds along Wheatley Road also and do a bit of sweeping in the big yard.

If you find yourself with some free time on the day, we would love it if you came along, to socialise with other families and teachers while helping make the school a more enjoyable and beautiful place for our children and enjoy a well deserved sausage sizzle at the end!

There will be a sign in sheet on the day, and a few of us will have the high-vis vests on if you need some guidance. We have most tools and some gloves, but feel free to bring your own!

2nd Hand Uniform News - Donation Bin

We are pleased to inform our school community that we now have a 2nd Hand Uniform Donation Bin, located in the Library.

The blue bin is the best place to donate any good condition, washed and folded school uniforms and accessories. Please only donate good condition new style school bags with working zips. We unfortunately can no longer accept the old style school bags.

Can you help?

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and would love your input! You might have some great examples of fundraising or events at other schools that you would like to share with us. Perhaps you have specialist skills and you are willing to donate your time – we are always looking for people with fundraising or events experience, people who have graphic design skills and social media specialists.
