From the Assistant Principal

Thank you to everyone - students, parents, family members - who have introduced themselves to me during my Yard Duty at before and after school. I have really felt so warmly welcomed into the OPS community.

Play Hub – Student Voice

Over the last two weeks, students have had the opportunity to explore the many and varied resources provided by the P&F.  This new space has proved to inspire and engage our students during their opportunity for exploration during class time. A selection of students from each year level were asked to share their views on the Play Hub space and they each presented their “student voice” at Assembly yesterday.

Kiara, FB “I love the toys because they are nice and fun. My favourite was the building blocks.”

Tom & Isla, 3A “We like the toys because it was fun for us to play with our friends. Our favourite toy was the cornhole and the magnets. We liked the magnets because we got to build towers.”

Millie, 4B “Last Friday, my class and I went to the Play Hub. We loved all the activities. The magnetic blocks were my favourite because I made a cobra and a house that I went inside of. It was so much fun.”

Abi, 5B “I really enjoyed the Connect 4 because it tested mine and my friend’s strategic abilities.”

Once the Play Hub is transitioned outdoors for lunch time play, Ms McLeod and I will continue to provide guidance and support to students to ensure great play choices continue.
