Celebrating Diversity: Highlights from our Term 1 International Student Party

Our Term 1 party for international students was more than just a social event; it was a crucial step towards building a supportive and inclusive community.  This tradition is designed to welcome our global family and to celebrate cultures, friendships, and new beginnings.

We greeted students with sushi and sandwiches and celebrated the Term 1 birthdays with a huge, iced raspberry cream cake. It was an obvious hit, with most students returning for a second piece. We sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and chatted about planning for future celebrations and activities that will bring us together.

Soon the conversations turned to Harmony Day and how we will showcase our many cultures to the whole school community.

All students left with a New Year gift bag of some delicious, homemade cookies to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.

Homestay Families

We need homestay families so if you have a spare bedroom and would like to share your home with an international student, please let us know. International students bring our community a wealth of culture and language learning. If you would like further information about how it works – time commitment, expectations and financial remuneration, give the International Office a call.
