Principal's Report

As we navigate through another bustling term, it's my pleasure to share with you the outstanding achievements and memorable moments that have defined our community's spirit and dedication over the past few weeks. From the energy of competitive sports to the innovative approaches to engagement and learning, our school continues to shine in providing diverse experiences for our students. Let's celebrate some of the recent highlights together.

MGC Swimming Carnival at MSAC

Our annual Swimming Carnival at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) was a splash hit! Students from all year levels showcased their swimming prowess, with remarkable talent emerging in every stroke and distance. The day was filled with cheering, spirited competition, and exemplary displays of sportsmanship. Congratulations to all participants for their efforts and achievements, and a special thanks to our Physical Education teachers and staff who made this event a seamless and positive experience for everyone involved.

Pedal Cinema Night

The Pedal Cinema event was a resounding success, blending fitness, entertainment, and sustainability into a memorable evening for our families. Our school community came together to pedal stationary bikes, powering a movie screening under the stars. This innovative event not only provided a unique way to watch a film but also promoted physical activity and environmental awareness. Thank you to all the students, parents, and staff who pedalled the night away.  It was a wonderful night for our entire community.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training – Parent Course

Understanding the importance of mental health, we recently offered a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training course for parents. This course equipped participants with the knowledge and skills to help young people experiencing mental health challenges. The engagement and feedback from parents have been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the value of such initiatives in fostering a supportive and informed community. We remain committed to promoting mental health awareness and support within our school community.

Alumni-focused International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women's Day, Melbourne Girls' College was thrilled to host an alumni-focused event that brought together past and present students and families to celebrate the achievements of women and inspire the next generation. This special occasion provided a platform for sharing experiences, wisdom, and encouragement, strengthening the bonds within our community and beyond. The event underscored our commitment to empowering young women to achieve their fullest potential. A heartfelt thank you to all our alumni and guests who participated in this inspiring gathering.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone for your ongoing support and involvement in our college activities. Whether through participation, encouragement, or your contributions enrich our MGC community and enhance our students' experiences.
