KNOCKOUT GIRLS FOOTBALL ROUND 1

On Tuesday, 24th June, the LNPS Knockout Girls Football Team competed in the first round of the Statewide Competition. They represented LNPS excellently, showing incredible resilience in some truly difficult weather conditions.

The first game against Grange Primary School was a tough one, ending in a loss (22-9). But the girls didn't let that dampen their spirits. Their next match against Highgate Primary School was a nail-biter. It was a tie-up until the last three minutes, when our girls scored two cracking goals in the final minutes to snatch the win! (32-18)

A big congratulations to Grange PS for winning both their games and progressing to the next round.

A special thank you to Coach Daniel and the families who braved the weather to support us.

Well done again girls. We're so proud of your effort and determination

Below are some comments from the girls:

On Tuesday, 24th June the knockout footy girls played two games. My first experience doing an actual footy game. It was pretty fun when playing with my friends, even though I didn’t get a goal I helped the others and got the ball quite a few times when I was in mid field. -Ada

I was playing the position of forward in the box. Everyone had a mixed position every single game and some people had breaks. Ellie scored her first ever footy goal for the team when we were playing against Highgate, along with Scarlett, Quinn, Valentina and Layla. Grange was a tough opponent to play against but we at least had fun. I think we all enjoyed the games and Highgate was an exciting game. - Nikki

Last Tuesday we played two games of footy. It was a great day. On that day so many of us girls got to score goals. - Scarlett

The weather was CRAZY RAINY! It was lots of fun and I scored my first ever goal in a footy game. -Ellie

Last Tuesday we had our first KO football matches for the girls. We lost our first game against Grange 22–9, but in our second game we won 32-18 against Highgate and I scored a goal in the last quarter. The captains were Ada and Quinn for the Grange game and Ayat and Natalija for the Highgate game- Layla

 KNOCKOUT GIRLS NETBALL

On Thursday, June 26th (week 8), the knockout netball girls competed at the Henley High School courts. Our first game was against St Mary’s, an all-girls school, where we faced a tough challenge and unfortunately lost.

Next, we played Norwood, where we bounced back and secured our first victory, winning by one goal. This was an exciting game, and we celebrated enthusiastically. In our final game, we played Fulham North, which was a tough game, where we only lost by a few goals.

Overall, it was all a fun day, even though we didn’t get through to round 3. We would like to give a massive shout-out to Miss Maddy for coaching and organising it, and all the parents who came to support us.

SAPSASA Netball

Hi, I'm Scarlett, and I was lucky enough to be chosen to represent the Airport District in SAPSASA Netball for 2025. It was a three-day competition and we played three games each day. 100 teams participated across multiple divisions.

On the first day, unfortunately, we lost all three games. On the second day, we played much better and were able to win all 3 games! On the last day, we won 2 of the 3 games. Overall, we came 4th in Division 1.

A highlight for me was when our coaches gave us Jeremiah the teddy bear to celebrate how we played. He ended up being our team mascot and helped support us throughout the competition.

I really enjoyed being a part of the competition this year and was very excited to represent LNPS and the airport district. It was great to meet all the other players and coaches.
