Messages from the office

LOST PROPERTY
You may have noticed that we have a new wooden chest outside our main office. Any unnamed items of clothing handed into the office will be placed inside.
We will continue to return clearly named items to students. Please check that your labelling is still legible and easily read, otherwise it too will be placed with the unnamed items.
We strongly suggest using iron-on clothing labels. They are easy to read and can be easily applied to garments. Every child possesses a distinct Compass code; no other student shares the same code. Please include your child’s Compass code on the label. First name and initial cannot always be tracked to the correct student.
Due to the volume of uniform received at the office, and because we have limited storage space, the lost property chest will be emptied on Friday each week. All items will be washed, dried and placed in our second-hand uniform stock for purchase at $5 per item.
CAMPS, SPORTS AND EXCURSION FUND (CSEF)
A reminder to families who hold a valid Centrelink card that applications for CSEF are still open but closing soon. No applications can be accepted after Wednesday June 24.
If you have previously received CSEF at Buninyong Primary School, and there have been no changes to your family circumstances, it is not necessary to lodge a new application.
If, however, you have a new student enrolment including Prep students, or there have been changes to your family circumstances such as change of custody arrangements, change of name or change to your concession card number a fresh application is necessary.
Further information and an application form can be collected at the school office.
STUDENT DETAILS UPDATE
Student Enrolment Information Form updates were sent out at the beginning of this term. If you have not yet returned your form, please check your email junk folder or request a new form at the office.
It is extremely important that we maintain up to date information for all students in the event of an injury or an emergency at school.
All family, medical and emergency contact details should be checked and updated if necessary, together with “Parent Occupation Group” on page 3. Occupation groups are listed on pages 6 to 8 with a note at the top of page 6 to use code “N” if you are taking a break from work, retired or are currently unemployed.
Parent occupation codes, together with parent education details, form part of funding assessment for schools. Schools with the highest level of need receive the most government funding to ensure sufficient resources to support students. We therefore wish to ensure that all parent occupations are correct and up to date.
1. Please check each item in the form to ensure it is correct and up to date.
2. If the information is correct, please go to Step 4.
3. If there is any information that is incorrect, please write the updated information next to each item, where necessary.
4. Sign the form in the space provided on page 1 to confirm that all the information is correct and up to date.
5. Return the completed and signed form to our school office.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our office team.
