National Simultaneous Storytime - Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller
Last Wednesday, students took part in National Simultaneous Storytime, joining millions of students across Australia to read this year’s featured book, Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller.
National Simultaneous Storytime is a special event that celebrates reading and encourages children to enjoy books, storytelling and shared reading experiences together at the same time. This year’s story followed Luna Roo and her friends as they chased their football dreams across the outback, highlighting themes of teamwork, perseverance, friendship and believing in yourself.
Students thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story and discussing the important messages throughout the book. The story provided a wonderful opportunity for students to reflect on resilience, working together and having the confidence to keep trying, even when things feel challenging.
Following the reading, students participated in a range of follow-up classroom activities linked to the story. It was fantastic to see students so engaged and enthusiastic throughout the experience.
National Simultaneous Storytime continues to be a wonderful way to promote a love of reading and celebrate the joy that books can bring.
