Year In Review From The Headstart Team

As we draw a close to 2024, it has been a big year for McClelland College senior students. Head Start has supported 12 students as they have signed up and become School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT) students. We especially want to acknowledge Sienna R’s achievement, becoming the inaugural SBAT of the Year student, receiving her award at the recent Valedictory evening. We congratulate and celebrate her achievements as she moves into employment. 

Congratulations to the McClelland Secondary College students who have signed up and commenced their Head Start school-based apprenticeships (SBAT) with their employers this year. The following students have started either their SBAT or their full-time apprenticeships with the Head Start program in 2024: 

Samuel W (Year 11) – Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician 

Jai J (Year 11) – Certificate III in Barbering 

Jack McG (Year 11) – Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology 

Tyler I (Year 11) – Certificate III in Plumbing 

Max H (Year 11) – Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician 

William P (Year 11) – Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade 

Brodie C (Year 11) – Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology 

Jake R (Year 11) – Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology 

Lachlan P (Year 11) – Certificate III in Carpentry 

Sienna R (Year 12) – Certificate III in Education Support 

Alyssa V (Year 12) – Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology 

Ruby G (Year 12) - Certificate III in Hairdressing 

What an amazing achievement! The Head Start program will be supporting these students, as they embark on this journey, commencing their qualification certificates, attending work with their employers and working towards achieving their VCE VM certificates. The school’s Head Start Coordinator, Laura Germano and the Head Start team wish these students all the best as they pursue their chosen career pathways.
