2023 Celebration of Excellence

Monday 16 October

Our year of respect

On Monday evening, we came together as a Franciscan Community to celebrate the achievements of so many students in the academic, community, cultural, sporting and house areas of college life. We celebrated excellence and achievement, but even more importantly we acknowledged the courage, determination, persistence and hard work that led to the rewards.

We celebrated all that is great about life at Mount Alvernia College and it was wonderful to share in and acknowledge the success of so many students. Congratulations to all students on your participation in and dedication to the life of Mount Alvernia in 2023. We hope all students have been inspired and will continue to be authentic, aspiring and audacious in their learning and in their commitment to achieving their goals in 2023 and beyond. We presented many awards of Monday evening and invite our community to peruse some photos taken on the night below.  Photos taken by MSP Photography will be available for purchase next week. The College will place a notice on MyMtA and the College App to parents/carers with details on how to purchase these photos.

Bonaventure Exceptional Practitioners

As well as recognising student excellence, we acknowledged the exceptional practice from members of our teaching community. We sincerely thank all of our teachers and staff for their commitment to the College and their support of our students. Our staff are exceptional, and without their dedication and expertise we would not be able to provide such wonderful support and opportunity to our students.

Our first recipient was also awarded the Australian Council of Health and Physical Education and Recreation Excellence in Teaching Award for 2023.

Congratulations to our teacher Bonaventure Exceptional Practitioner for 2023 - Ms Tamara Richardson.

Our Extended Leadership Team Bonaventure Exceptional Practitioner for 2023 was also awarded the 2023 Emerging Leader Award by ACER - the Australian Council of Educational Leaders Qld this year. Congratulations to our Head of Digital Pedagogy and Innovation, Ms Jane Martens.
