MIPCOM Diversify Awards

As you may recall, Mount Alvernia College was involved in the 2023 SBS documentary series: The Swap. Proudly, the series was recently at the prestigious 2023 MIPCOM Diversify Awards held in Cannes. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in this remarkable project. 

"The Swap" began as a simple yet profound idea—to foster understanding and respect among diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. It was an ambitious journey that saw students from the Islamic College Of Brisbane, Padua College, Brisbane Mount Alvernia College, and Ferny Grove State School fearlessly stepping into each other's worlds. The result is a captivating tapestry of shared experiences, mutual learning, and a deeper understanding of our diverse society.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ali Kadri, whose vision and dedication brought this project to life. In particular, we would like to shine a spotlight on Eliza and Martina, who demonstrated exceptional courage and resilience in swapping schools. Your willingness to embrace the unknown, to immerse yourselves in different environments, and to engage in open and honest dialogue with your peers from diverse backgrounds has had a profound impact on this project. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the families of our students who were part of the journey. Your support and trust were instrumental in making "The Swap" a reality. 

This award is not just a win for "The Swap," but a win for the values of diversity, tolerance, and inclusivity that Mount Alvernia College stands for. It's a celebration of the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on our world.
