Parents and Friends

As we reach the end of Term 1, it is hard to believe how quickly the weeks have flown by. It feels like only yesterday we were packing school bags for the first day of school, welcoming the new Year 5 cohort and now here we are already heading into the Easter season (and wondering where all the lunchbox ideas went!).
Easter is a special and meaningful time in our Catholic faith. It reminds us of the incredible love of Jesus, who gave His life for us on the cross and rose again so that we might have eternal life with Him. At its heart, Easter is a message of hope, renewal and love, something we can carry with us not just during this season, but every day.
Coming into Easter and the end of Term 1, we are also reminded of just how fast life moves. Our boys are growing, changing, and keeping us on our toes (and eating us out of house and home!) faster than we can keep up. It is a good nudge to pause, take a breath, and truly appreciate the life God has given us, from the significant milestones, the small moments, and even the slightly chaotic ones.
With the school holidays upon us, we hope all families enjoy a well-earned break from the usual routine. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend some extra time together, whether that is heading away, enjoying a Saturday morning sleep-in, or simply enjoying less time in Sydney traffic.
We wish everyone a safe and joyful Easter. May this season bring peace to your hearts, time to reflect, and plenty of memorable moments with your family and friends.
I hope the Easter Bunny hops his way into your homes this year with plenty of chocolate to share 🐰🍫 Enjoy the break, Term 2 will be here before we know it!
Black and Green Shield
What a fantastic atmosphere at St Patrick’s College last Saturday as we officially launched the winter sport season. With two barbeques firing and the Black and Green Shield clash against Trinity Grammar School drawing in a great crowd, it was a massive day both on and off the sporting fields. A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day. Your time, energy and commitment continue to make these events such a success for our community.
With the New Zealand Rugby Tour fast approaching, we are pleased to share that proceeds from last Saturday’s barbeque will go towards supporting the financial commitment required to deliver this exciting opportunity for our students. Another outstanding initiative - the Rugby Raffle, led by Elena Ierardo and Macquire Tatola - was also drawn on the day. With fantastic prizes on offer, including signed jerseys, the funds raised will further support the upcoming tour and help ensure our players enjoy a memorable and enriching experience.
We look forward to seeing you at our next barbeque after the Easter holiday break on Saturday 9 May, held in conjunction with the Year 7 Supporters’ Day, another great chance to come together and support our boys.
Don’t forget to secure your tickets to the Blue, Black and Gold Dinner Dance at Le Montage on Friday 15 May. Tickets are now available to Old Boys via the Old Boys website and through the Humanitix link. Be quick, ticket sales close in three weeks.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of the St Patrick’s College community.

Our first Year 6 Social at Flipout
Our Year 6 SPC social calendar kicked off with a massive turnout of over 150 attendees at Flip Out Gladesville last Sunday evening! The energy was electric as the boys tackled rock climbing walls, navigated indoor mazes, and burnt off steam on the jumping mats. Whether they were playing hide and seek or racing their mates through the maze, it was fantastic to see them bonding with friends across the cohort. All the boys had a blast!
While the boys were busy flipping out, parents enjoyed catching up in the party rooms or meeting new parents. We managed to round up all the boys for a group photo and towards the end of the evening, the boys clearly were keen to stay for just one more jump and didn't want to leave!
A huge thank you to the parents who joined us on a Sunday evening and a special shout out to the dedicated SPC mums who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise, promote, and manage the event.
We couldn't have done it without you. Stay tuned for more Year 6 socials including the much anticipated Year 6 Thanksgiving Dinner later this year!
