What a Term of Cooking!

What a term it has been in the kitchen! So much cooking, learning, experimenting and of course, plenty of delicious food to enjoy.

The most exciting thing this term has definitely been our Grade 6 MasterChef competition. Every year I am blown away by the quality of the dishes our students create and serve. It is honestly one of my favourite things we do in the kitchen! Watching the students plan, cook, plate up and serve their dishes is amazing and sometimes I feel like I’m sitting in a restaurant!

We have now finished our Grade 6 MasterChef competition and I am very excited to announce that our 2026 MasterChef winners are 6RF! Alisa, Stazi and Simon.

Congratulations to all the students in the final, you did an amazing job. A huge congratulations also goes to every Grade 6 student who took part. There were some outstanding dishes, fantastic teamwork and lots of creativity.

Prep Iced Donuts

Our Prep students had so much fun making iced donuts. They decorated their donuts with chocolate, strawberries, pineapple and lots of their favourite toppings.

There were plenty of smiles... and also plenty of icing on faces! 

Grade 1 & 2 Shortbread

Our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students have been busy making shortbread for Grandparents Day. The kitchen was filled with the delicious smell of freshly baked shortbread. The students loved making something special to share with their grandparents.

 STEM in the Kitchen

STEM has also been happening in the kitchen!!

 Honeycomb Science

We  had  fun with Grade 5 and Grade 6 making honeycomb. It was fantastic watching the students carefully get the temperatures right and then see the science come to life! Of course the best part was tasting it — the honeycomb was absolutely amazing! 

Our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students made gozleme. First the students headed out to the garden to pick fresh spinach to use in their cooking. There is nothing better than picking something from our own garden and then cooking with it!

Japanese Cooking

Our Grade 5 students had an enjoyable time making Yakisoba Noodles Stir-Fry. The students learnt new cooking skills while preparing a delicious noodle dish.

It has been a very busy Term 3 in the kitchen and I am so proud of everything our students have achieved. From our youngest students decorating donuts to our Grade 6 students serving MasterChef dishes, there has been so much learning, laughter and delicious food.
