Principal Report 

Term 3 at Oatlands has certainly been a busy and rewarding one. 

Throughout the term, our students have enjoyed a wide variety of experiences including dress-up days, 100 Days of School celebrations, Book Week activities (including a book trail, Battle of the Books and our Symphony of Stories Showcase), incursions, year level excursions, swimming lessons, Grade 6 MasterChef competition, district and division athletics, Hoop Time, Father’s Day Breakfast & Grandparents Afternoon. 

These events bring much joy and excitement to our school and the community and it’s wonderful to see our students continue to display exemplary behaviour and participate enthusiastically.

Term 4 is set to be another busy term, kicking off with Oatlands Primary School’s very first overseas trip to Japan with 10 of our Grade 6 students having the incredible opportunity to attend. Sensei Brown has worked tirelessly planning this trip for the past 18 months, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, care and dedication he has invested to make this experience possible for our students.

We are incredibly excited to see our students immerse themselves in Japanese culture, language and experiences, while representing Oatlands Primary School and making memories that will last a lifetime. 

Signora Marson has also been working on a wonderful experience, taking 12 of our Grade 6 students on a two-night staycation in Melbourne, where they will embark on an Italian-inspired adventure right here in our own city! From making gnocchi and visiting Brunetti’s to exploring the Immigration Museum and discovering Melbourne’s rich Italian heritage, our students will have the opportunity to experience culture, food, history and language in a fun and authentic way. 

Both events are a wonderful milestone for Oatlands and a fantastic example of learning extending beyond the classroom. You will certainly hear more about the experiences our students had next term.
