St George’s Cathedral Concert

All are warmly invited to John XXIII College’s annual concert at St George’s Cathedral, on Wednesday 5 August from 1:00pm to 1:45pm. Held as part of the Cathedral’s Concerts at One series, this concert features Chamber Choir, Barbershop, Senior Voices, Senior Clarinet Ensemble, Senior String Quartet, Senior Saxophone Ensemble, Year 10 Cello Trio and ATAR Soloists. This concert is open to all who would like to attend, with no booking required!

Music Eisteddfod

John XXIII College’s annual Music Eisteddfod will be held on Sunday 9 and Monday 10 August, when hundreds of young musicians will fill the College with music! Featuring students from K – 12 in vocal, instrumental and ensemble categories, students receive feedback on their performances from our panel of external adjudicators, as they earn points towards the House Music Shield and individual award categories.

Students who have requested piano accompaniment can book rehearsals through the Music Office in the lead-up to the Eisteddfod. A full schedule of the Eisteddfod is being finalised and will be communicated in the coming days.

Chapel Choir

Chapel Choir is open to all Years 1 to 12 students who love singing, with a focus on liturgical music. Rehearsals commence at 7:30am in the Chapel with Ms Haydon and Mr Johnston on Fridays. Chapel Choir then sings at Community Mass (commencing at 8:00am). Secondary students who sing in the choir may include this time in their Roncalli Service hours.
