NAPLAN has been the focus in the Curriculum space this week. With the grade 3s and 5s commencing testing this week. NAPLAN is a yearly nationwide assessment in Australia for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It measures Literacy, specifically Writing, Reading and Language Conventions as well as Numeracy. Students approached each session with a positive attitude and a strong sense of perseverance, and we are very proud of the calm and focused way they engaged with each assessment.

While NAPLAN provides valuable information about student progress, it is only one part of the bigger picture. Our teaching teams continue to use a wide range of classroom assessments, observations, and learning conversations to build a holistic understanding of each child’s growth.
