Environment & Sustainability at GPS

Hello everybody!

With all the demolition and construction work at the Senior Campus we are just hanging in there with our various garden spaces. Our re-location of the yabby billabong is nearly complete.

At the Junior Campus however, we have some major and exciting news. Our Bundjil Garden (herb and vegie garden) at the south-east section of our school yard had its own construction development over the recent fortnight of holdays between Term 1 and Term 2.

Please take the time to view this video I made Thursday morning, last week:

Our magnificent parent leader of the Bundjil Garden, Jen Robinson, has done a sensational job fostering our beautiful QUAIL birds since last spring. Thank you to Jen for organising Rod Blackwood to build the extra ‘wing’ to the Quail Palace (as seen in the video). Great job Rod!

Jen would love for more parents to assist at the Junior Campus gardening clubs on Friday lunchtimes. I guarantee you’ll love spending the time with the kids if you can join and assist this program. Please view this link to see the WhatsApp group that Jen has established: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JGNODDqTMVgJ64i8OvokoJ?mode=gi_t

As Sir David Attenborough has just had his 100th birthday, let us all embrace the natural environment of Gardenvale PS and keep reminding our children to cherish and protect all natural things in their lives.

Yours in Ed
