Principal's Report

Mother’s Day
I hope all our mums had a very special day on Sunday and were showered with kindness and gratitude. The two Mother’s Day functions; the Mums & Muffins morning and the lunch at Elwood Bathers, were both great successes. Thank you to everyone who supported these enjoyable events. I believe the pre-Mother’s Day movie was also a huge success! A big thank you to the parents involved for all their hard work and time in organising these events for our school community. A very special mention goes to Lee Ajzenman, Amanda Berger, Oren Flamm, Robyn Krawitz, Stephanie Munro, Deb Putt, Mia Roth and Tanya Shulman. Without you coordinating these events, they simply would not take place. Your efforts are truly appreciated!
House Cross Country
The weather on Wednesday 29th April for Year 3 to 6 House Cross Country was perfect for running. All our Year 3 to 6 students tried their very best when completing their circuits in beautiful Landcox Park. Thank you to all the teachers and parents involved in setting up and supporting this event. Congratulations and a big thank you to Tim McRae for all his work and enthusiasm for ensuring the House Cross Country was a great success. Finally, a big congratulations to Hosking House for winning the overall event!
We wish all the best to the 48 students representing Gardenvale tomorrow at the District Cross Country at Elsternwick Park.
Year 1 and 5 Working Bee
Sunday, 24th May, is our Year 1 and 5 Working Bee from 9.00 to 11.00am. It would be great to have many willing workers to undertake the myriads of tasks that need to be done on both campuses. Dimi and I are so grateful to all the people that are able to help out. One hour makes a big difference.
Student Safety
Our school staff are out in the playground on yard duty at 8:45am in the morning and until 3:45 pm in the afternoon. Any students that are in the playground unsupervised outside of these times are at risk. We ask that if your child does need to be on the school grounds outside of school hours that you, please book them into Before and After School Care with TeamKids to ensure their safety.
A further reminder that once children have arrived on school grounds, they are not allowed to leave the school to go to Zest or to go out and wait for their friends on Landcox Street.
Thank you in advance for your consideration as we work together to keep our children safe.
2027 Preps
We are endeavouring to firm up our Prep numbers for next year. If you have a little one starting school at Gardenvale PS in 2027, please visit our website for information on completing the online enrolment; Enrolment Information & Parent Payments | GVPS
