Welcome back to Term 2
It has been wonderful to see all students return and settle so positively into the term. They have made a strong start, and it has been lovely to see their enthusiasm for learning.
In Literacy, we are reading The Black Cockatoo by Carl Merrison. We are following Mia as she cares for an injured bird while beginning to understand deeper connections within her family and culture. Students are engaging thoughtfully with the text and are able to relate to the characters in meaningful ways. We are also diving deeply into character analysis, while continuing to explore grammar through prepositions, conjunctions, and extending sentences. Comprehension discussions have been particularly strong.
In Mathematics, we are finishing our multiplication unit and will soon move into division.
We also enjoyed our first Bush Play session, which was a marvellous adventure and a wonderful opportunity to connect with our natural environment.
In Integrated Studies, we will be commencing a Geography-focused unit.
