3-4 Class

(Miss Sahyoune)

Welcome back to Term 2. We have had a very positive start, with students demonstrating strong enthusiasm for learning.

In English, we have begun a poetry unit. Students have particularly enjoyed exploring The Ant Explorer, and will soon engage with another well-known poem and the story Mulga Bill’s Bicycle. By the end of Week 3, all students will complete a poetry booklet to share at home.

In Mathematics, we have finalised our work on multiplication and division and are now beginning a unit on fractions. It has been pleasing to see students developing increased confidence and a positive mindset towards mathematics.

This term in Integrated Studies, our focus is Geography. Students will develop skills in reading, creating and interpreting maps of the local area, as well as comparing Australia’s geographical features with those of neighbouring regions, Africa and South America.

Several students also presented their water cycle projects from last term. These included both physical models and WebQuests on natural resources, and all students demonstrated strong engagement in their preparation.

We have also introduced Friday afternoon “Clubs” this term. The first session was a success, with students showing great enthusiasm and looking forward to upcoming activities.
