Beaumont Hills Campus Update
Assalaamu Alaykum WRWB,
Alhamdulillah, as we commenced a new term, we did so with renewed intentions and a shared commitment to continued growth and development across our Beaumont Hills Campus. Each new term provides an opportunity to reflect, refocus and strengthen our efforts in nurturing our students academically, socially and spiritually.
Term 3 has been filled with meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, grow and contribute. Across Primary and Secondary, our focus continues to be on nurturing confident young Muslims who demonstrate strong character, strive for excellence and contribute positively to their community.
Primary Wellbeing and Development
Our new Primary Playland has been a wonderful addition to the campus this term. Students have embraced the opportunity to engage in active, imaginative and cooperative play, while developing their coordination, confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills.
Bullying Workshops have further supported students in understanding the impact their words and actions can have on others, while reinforcing the importance of empathy, respect, kindness and positive relationships. These important lessons are complemented by our Primary Enrichment Program, Little Legends of the Ummah: Building Skills, Minds & Imaan, which provides students with meaningful opportunities to build confidence, develop creativity and new skills, strengthen positive relationships and deepen their connection to faith. Together, these experiences reflect our commitment to holistic education, supporting students to grow not only in knowledge and capability, but also in character, akhlaq, resilience and imaan.
Misconceptions in Islam – Student and Parent Information Session
As part of our continued commitment to strengthening Islamic identity and supporting our students and families, a student and parent information session on Misconceptions in Islam was presented by Principal, Dr Zachariah Matthews.
The session provided an opportunity to explore common misconceptions surrounding Islam, encourage thoughtful discussion and deepen understanding of Islamic teachings within a contemporary context. Students and parents were encouraged to reflect, ask questions and develop greater confidence in understanding and articulating their faith.
Providing opportunities for our students and families to learn together is an important part of our approach to holistic education. By strengthening knowledge, faith and understanding, we aim to support our students in developing a confident Muslim identity grounded in imaan, knowledge and strong character.
Secondary Student Q&A Forum – Islam and Contemporary Issues
Our Secondary students participated in an engaging Q&A Forum with Sheikh Arshad and Sheikh Ahmed Abdo, providing students with a safe and meaningful opportunity to ask questions and discuss contemporary issues relevant to young Muslims today.
The forum encouraged open dialogue, thoughtful reflection and respectful discussion, with Islamic teachings used to guide students in considering the challenges and questions they encounter in contemporary society.
Importantly, the session provided students with an opportunity to see Islam not simply as something studied, but as a framework that can guide their decisions, relationships, identity and responses to the world around them.
Leave a Legacy – Serving Our Community
This term also saw the introduction of our Leave a Legacy initiative, which we hope to establish as an annual community service program for our students. Working in partnership with Brothers in Need, students were given the opportunity to put the Islamic values of compassion, service and generosity into action.
Students prepared health and hygiene packs containing essential items for people experiencing hardship. They also worked together in the kitchen to prepare food and assemble meal packs, which were then distributed to people experiencing homelessness in Sydney.
The initiative was about much more than preparing and distributing items. It encouraged our students to recognise their responsibility towards others, develop gratitude for their own blessings and understand the dignity and importance of serving those in need.
Through experiences such as these, we want our students to understand that leaving a legacy is not necessarily about doing something extraordinary. It is about consistently using what Allah SWT has given us - our time, abilities and resources - to benefit others.
Beaumont Hills Chess Competition
We were pleased to host our first-ever Chess Competition at the Beaumont Hills Campus, bringing students together for an enjoyable day of strategy, concentration and friendly competition. Throughout the event, students demonstrated critical thinking, patience, problem-solving and determination, while challenging themselves, learning from one another and sharing their enthusiasm for chess. Congratulations to all students who participated, with medals awarded to our top-performing students in recognition of their skill and achievement, and a special thank you to everyone who contributed to making our inaugural competition a memorable experience. We now look forward to the upcoming Inter-Campus Chess Competition, which will bring students from all three campuses together to connect with their peers, further develop their skills and enjoy a shared experience of strategic thinking, learning and friendly play.
Growing in Imaan, Akhlaq and Ihsaan
While each of these experiences has been different, they share a common purpose: developing the whole student through a holistic approach to education. At Beaumont Hills, holistic education extends beyond academic achievement to nurturing the intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional and physical development of every student. Whether through learning, wellbeing, faith, service or enrichment, we want our students to grow in imaan, demonstrate strong akhlaq, strive for ihsaan, and recognise the positive contribution they can make to the lives of others.
