House Performing Arts

Perform Like Nobody's Watching
Last week, our campus was alive with energy as the annual House Performing Arts Carnival entered its final stages of mass rehearsals.
On Friday, we witnessed the spectacular culmination of work that began all the way back in October 2024. Each house delivered an extraordinary performance, leaving the audience in absolute awe.
What makes House Performing Arts truly unique is the scale and precision it demands: more than 100 students from each house performing in perfect unison, doing the exact same thing, at the exact same time, every time.
The skills developed through this program extend far beyond the classroom. Students are challenged to design and deliver a full stage production within a 20-minute timeframe, taking full ownership of the process, including any mistakes or last-minute changes along the way.
This is the true beauty of the Performing Arts. It teaches students invaluable lessons in leadership, collaboration, trust, planning, adaptability, and resilience. And most importantly, it shows them that the polished final performance is just 10% of the journey. While the audience may see a dazzling end product, they are witnessing the result of six months of dedication, teamwork and growth.

Well Done Mather!
On behalf of all Mather leaders, we are not only proud, but so incredibly grateful for the absolute commitment and enthusiasm we’ve really seen in you throughout these busy weeks. We’ve seen how you’ve made the best of every rehearsal, every training, and every assembly, really giving things a go and giving back to Mather. You are the reason it’s worth being a leader, and we thank you for so graciously being part of our family of blue.

Bealo's Bonus Point
Rayner kicked it off with good vibes and it only got better from there! Whatever we did, we gave 100%, with every rehearsal full of energy, laughter, and teamwork. We played games where the year 7 boys dominated, hyped each other up before run-throughs, and everyone gave it their all. Winning the Bealo’s Points showed how united Rayner is, and I know the house is proud of walking away with what we did!
