VSAC Swimming Competition

On the 12th of May, seven Huntingtower swimmers represented EISM at the Victorian Schools Associations Competition (VSAC), held at MSAC. This prestigious event brings together the best of the best from 14 school sport associations across Victoria.

This year marked Huntingtower’s largest ever VSAC team, with Rena (Year 7), Cheng-Yun (Year 7), Alex (Year 8), Peter (Year 9), Chris (Year 9), George (Year 12) and Julia (Year 12) representing EISM at the highest level of interschool swimming in Victoria. Reaching this stage is no small feat, it reflects countless hours of hard work, dedication and an unwavering commitment to improvement. Personal bests were swum and races won, showcasing the passion and determination we have to the sport.

A huge congratulations to everyone for making it to this elite level, and a heartfelt thank you to Ms Baynham, Megan, and all the coaches, parents, families and friends who supported us along the way. Your encouragement, time and support play a vital role in making achievements like this possible.

Zonal Chess Tournament

Our senior chess team participated in its first zonal tournament of the year at Melbourne Grammar. There were 21 teams participating including Scotch, Melbourne High, Melbourne Grammar and Glen Waverley. Huntingtower finished in second place behind the runaway leaders, Scotch, and thereby qualified for State Finals in October. This is the 14th consecutive year that we have qualified for State Finals.

Our best player on the day was Benny Chan with a score of 6/7.

All the students demonstrated determination throughout their 2km or 3km races. The hard work and training at Early Risers paid off with 10 students progressing to the Monash-Waverley Division Cross-Country. This achievement reflects not only individual talent but also the dedication of our entire team. Congratulations all our competitors!

Monash-Waverley Cross-Country

On a wet and windy day, our amazing Monash-Waverley Division Cross-Country runners pushed themselves against some of the best athletes in the area. The Huntingtower runners showed remarkable determination and resilience, pushing through slippery trails and tough Mirrabooka Reserve course. A massive congratulations to all 10 students who competed!

An extra big congratulations to Max Jin Y, Molly W, Jason B & Olivia C who progressed through to the Eastern-Metropolitan Cross-Country Championships in June at Yarra Bend Racetrack. It's our biggest team in quite a few years! Amazing effort!
