Year 9 Drama

The talented Year 9 Drama students recently enjoyed a rewarding opportunity to connect with our younger learners in the Year 2 classrooms. In a delightful initiative designed to foster both literacy and inter-school connection, the Year 9 cohort visited the Year 2 students to read a selection of engaging picture storybooks.

It was truly inspiring to witness the Year 9 students bring the narratives to life through the imaginative use of varied and expressive voices, coupled with captivating character portrayals. The Year 2 students were thoroughly engaged, their faces alight with wonder as the stories unfolded.

This experience proved to be a valuable learning opportunity for our Year 9 students, allowing them to develop their performance skills in a unique and meaningful context. Furthermore, it provided a wonderful chance to build positive connections between the senior and junior years here at Huntingtower School, nurturing a stronger sense of community across different age groups.

Year 7 Geography

This week our Year 7 Geography students undertook fieldwork in Scotchmans Creek and Valley Reserve where they examined the impact of the low density residential development of Mount Waverley on the water quality of the creek water at two separate locations. They will use this information to write a report on the impacts and management of the reserve which forms part of their semester score. A wonderful opportunity to take our classroom learning out into the field.
