Grade Prep
The Grade Preps have been experimenting with paper, colour and pattern. Last week we made some amazing gum tree flowers for our whole school tree and this week we are looking at primary colours.

Grade 1
Last week we learnt about symmetry and how to create it. We have made some colourful beetles which we will finish off this week.

Grade 2
Last week we looked at the intricate details of coral, and we created some of our own using magiclay and pasta. We will finish these off this week, and they will be added to the watercolour fish we made earlier in the year.

Grade 3/4
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be working on our abstract botanical pieces where we firstly created a background then used paint pens to add kangaroo paws, wattle flowers and gum leaves. These look stunning with their striking colour combinations.

Grade 5/6
The students are putting the finishing touches to their ‘Penguins with Personality’ project. The students are enjoying adding accessories to their penguins to give them quirky personalities.

We are looking for…..
We are looking for full sized Coles, Aldi and Woolworths paper bags. These will be deconstructed and turned into portfolios for each student to use to take home their amazing artworks for the year!
ART CLUB
Term 4 is the Grade Preps turn to have fun at Art Club! Due to the Art Show, this will not start until week 6. This will give us time to clear and sort all the work from the Art Show once it is taken down.
Warm regards,
Marcia Evans

Welcome Back to Term 4!
Welcome back, students, and families! I can’t believe we are already in Term 4! It has been wonderful to see how much the students have grown in their French learning since the beginning of the year, and I’m so excited to see where they take their French for the remainder of the year.
Over the first two weeks of Term 4, each year level has jumped into a new and exciting topic:
Prep French-Speaking Countries & Food
Our Prep students are discovering the many countries around the world where French is spoken. They are also learning about some famous French foods and building their French vocabulary along the way!
Year 1 — Animals
Year 1 students are learning how to name different animals in French and identify different parts of an animal. They are building their vocabulary while practising how to describe what they see.
Year 2 — My Home & Neighbourhood
Year 2 has been exploring vocabulary related to houses, rooms, neighbourhoods and everyday objects found around the home. They are learning how to talk about where things are and describe their surroundings in French.
Years 3–4 — Sustainability & Renewable Energy
Our Years 3 and 4 students are exploring sustainability and renewable energy in French. They are learning new environmental vocabulary and discussing ways we can look after our planet.
Years 5–6 — French Artists & Impressionism
Our Years 5 and 6 students are diving into the world of French art and Impressionism. They are learning about famous French artists and developing their ability to describe and critique a painting in French, using artistic vocabulary and their own opinions.
I’m looking forward to another fantastic term of learning, speaking, creating, and having fun in French!
À bientôt!
