Sport and P.E.

PE Focus

The 3/4's have begun working on their 'Net and Wall' unit which involves sports such as, Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball and Pickleball. Beginning with tennis, the students went through the fundamentals; how to strike a ball, how to position the body, and the tactics used to play effectively. 

 

I am looking forward to witnessing their skills flourish throughout the term as even after the first session there were students who showed great progress. The best aspect about this unit is the tactical sense the students develop and take with them can be used in a variety of different sports and will be very useful when it is their turn to partake in inter school sports in the future.

Just a reminder for a few of the events coming up on the sporting calendar for Term 3:

  • 6th August - 3/4 Hoop Time
  • 7th August - Junior Athletics
  • 3rd September - District Athletics
