ROBOCUP JUNIOR COMPETITION - MELBOURNE REGIONALS
Congratulations to our Year 9 iSTEM students who competed in the Melbourne Regionals for Robocup Junior Australia at Genazzano College FCJ. Students created robotic soccer plays to compete in the Standard Soccer competition. They had a mixture of wins, draws and losses throughout the competition, always improving their robots as the day progressed. Students also attended the sell out match between Carlton versus Collingwood.

SPIKE PRIME ROBOCUP JUNIOR COMPETITION
Congratulations to Team Brachiosauruses: Samuel Thomsen, Austin Vijayakumar, Xavier Nixon and Adarsh Raj for coming fourth in NSW for the Spike Prime Challenge with their functional cerberus.
ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
Artificial Intelligence is growing exponentially around the world. Mater Dei Catholic College has developed an AI Working Party consisting of Mrs Courtney Freebody, Ms Melanie Cramp, Mr Shaun Ellis, Ms Anna O’Brien and Mr Lachlan Harland who are in the process of developing guidelines for staff, students and parents.
The NSW Department of Education has released a Draft National AI In Schools Framework which is currently in the consultation phase. In addition to this, Mr Lachlan Harland will also be working as part of the CEDWW AI Pilot Program to test AI in education at a system level.
YEAR 8 STEAM - RVR GOLF
Year 8 STEAM students have been working in roles as Coders, Engineers and Marketing Managers to create a Mini Golfing Experience. Students will be presenting their golfing courses with Mater Dei Primary and Lutheran Primary School students in Term 3, Week 9.
