Year 10 Work Experience - Victoria Police

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate to spend time at the Police Academy, and it was an incredible experience. Each day consisted of different activities, such as occupation inductions, academy tours, and seeing things like crime scene investigations, detective training, and operational safety activities. I enjoyed seeing what recruits do and the level of hard work, discipline, and teamwork that went into their training. It helped me better appreciate how difficult yet rewarding a career in policing can be.

My favourite parts of the program were watching the live and dry fire training, seeing the tasers in action, and attending the graduation ceremony. I found these moments stimulating and inspiring, because they portrayed the intensity of training and the achievement of completing it. Overall, I think the program was worthwhile—I learned a lot, and I now have a new appreciation for the skill, dedication, and hard work involved in becoming a police officer.
