Creating Futures Together
As we approach the final week of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all students, staff, and families for their ongoing support and commitment throughout what has been another productive and eventful term at Wheelers Hill Secondary College.
A special mention goes to our Year 12 students, who are now entering a critical period of revision and preparation for their final VCE exams. The upcoming vacation break provides a valuable opportunity for focused study and reflection. We wish every one of our Year 12s the very best as they use this time to consolidate their learning and prepare to finish the year with confidence and success. Your dedication and resilience have been commendable.
On Thursday 4th September, we held a whole-school assembly where students were introduced to the WHSC Teaching and Learning Model, developed in alignment with the Department’s Teaching and Learning Model 2.0. This model will guide our instructional practices moving forward and strengthen our collective commitment to high-impact teaching strategies that support student growth and achievement.
The final weeks of the term are shaping up to be quite busy. We are looking forward to welcoming families of incoming students to our Year 7 Transition Evening on Wednesday 10 September—an important milestone as we prepare to support the next generation of WHSC learners. In addition, our Year 10 students will soon embark on their much-anticipated camp, and our Year 11s will celebrate their formal, both occurring in the last week of term. These events are always highlights on the school calendar and contribute greatly to the overall student experience.
As we look ahead to the break, I would like to remind families that students will be dismissed at 2:30 PM on Friday 19 September. Please note that buses will still run at their usual time, so we encourage families to make alternative transport arrangements if students intend to leave at the earlier dismissal time.
Finally, I would like to wish all members of our WHSC community a safe, restful, and well-deserved term break. We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for a successful Term 4, commencing on Monday October 6th.
Warm regards,
Judy Anderson
Assistant Principal
