Thank you to the many families who attended our Senior School Subject Selection Information Night and Expo this week. It was wonderful to see students and parents engaging with our Senior School teachers and Careers Team to discuss future pathways, senior programs and the wide range of subjects available at St Joseph's College.

Families can access the 2027 Senior School Subject Selection Handbook on Compass by navigating to:

Community > School Documentation > Subject Selection Handbooks > 2027 Senior School Subject Selection Handbook

The handbook provides detailed information about the senior pathways offered at the College, including VCE, VCE VM and VPC, as well as comprehensive descriptions of all subjects available to students.

Year 12 (2027)

Online subject selection is now open for current Year 11 students to choose their Year 12 program for 2027.

Students are reminded that the School Data Preferences Portal closes at midnight on Monday 27 July. We encourage all students to submit their preferences before the closing date.

Year 10 and Year 11 Planning

To support current Year 9 and Year 10 students in selecting their 2027 program, students can access their subject planning sheet and career planning sheet through Compass Insights.

Students are encouraged to:

  • discuss their subject choices with their teachers
  • explore possible career pathways; and
  • complete both planning sheets prior to their Course Confirmation Interview.

These conversations and planning activities will help ensure students make informed decisions about their future studies.

Course Confirmation Interviews

All Year 9 and Year 10 students, together with their parent(s) or guardian(s), will be invited to attend a Course Confirmation Interview with a member of the College Careers Team.

These interviews provide an opportunity to discuss individual pathway goals, review subject selections and ensure students are choosing a program that best supports their interests, strengths and future aspirations.

Interview dates are:

  • Current Year 10 students: Wednesday 22 July – Wednesday 29 July
  • Current Year 9 students: Tuesday 4 August – Monday 10 August

Booking information and further details will be provided to families via Compass.

Year 7–9 Parent Teacher Student Conferences – Save the Date

Bookings will open shortly for the Year 7–9 Parent Teacher Student Conferences, to be held on Thursday 20 August, from 3.45pm to 6.45pm in the Nagle Building, Kildare Campus.

These conferences provide an important opportunity for parents, carers and students to meet with subject teachers, celebrate achievements and discuss strategies to support continued learning and growth. We encourage all students to attend with their parents or carers so they can actively participate in conversations about their progress and future learning goals.

We look forward to welcoming families to the Kildare Campus for these valuable conversations.

Year 7 and 9 NAPLAN results

Congratulations to the Year 7 and 9 students on their NAPLAN results. Student reports will be given to students to take home early next week. Please contact your child’s teacher or Learning Mentor if you have any questions. Students with an ‘Exceeding’ result in Reading or Numeracy will be awarded at the Semester 1 Awards Assembly.
