Principal's Report

As we move into Term Three, there is a real sense of purpose and excitement across the College. This is the term of consolidating, preparing and planning as our students begin looking ahead to the next stage of their learning journey.

For our Year 9 students, that journey includes one of the most exciting milestones of their secondary education at St Joseph's College - the transition from our Kildare Campus to our Brigidine Campus. It's been wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which they are embracing this next chapter. Through transition activities, subject selection, information sessions and conversations about future pathways, our students are beginning to picture themselves as senior students and all that brings.

One of the great strengths of St Joseph's College is our unique two-campus model. Our students are incredibly fortunate to experience two boutique learning environments designed specifically for their age and stage of development. The Kildare Campus provides a modern and nurturing setting where students can build confidence, develop strong foundations and grow as learners, while the Brigidine Campus offers the opportunities, independence and pathways that prepare them for life beyond school. We invest significantly in ensuring this transition is a positive and exciting experience, helping every student feel confident, connected and ready for the opportunities ahead.

Our Year 10 students also took an important step towards their future last week at the annual Careers Camp. The feedback from staff, students, industry and university representatives has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the outstanding behaviour, maturity and engagement of our students. Experiences like these are invaluable in helping young people explore the many pathways available to them and make informed decisions about their future.

And we're only in Week Two!

Already this term we've held subject selection assemblies, information evenings, our careers expo, VTAC and Pathways information evening, and are in the middle of course counselling sessions. We've also celebrated our students competing at regional cross country, netball and soccer competitions, with many more learning opportunities and events still to come. The vibrancy of our College community is something to be truly proud of.

Like every busy school, we've also experienced a few staffing changes this term due to personal leave. While this has resulted in some timetable adjustments and changes to classroom teachers and Learning Mentors, I have been incredibly impressed by the flexibility and generosity shown by both our staff and students as they have adapted so positively.

Meanwhile, there continues to be plenty of excitement at our Kildare Campus as Stage 3 of the building project steadily takes shape. Despite the recent wet weather, construction is progressing well, and it is exciting to see the vision becoming a reality. Our oval has also stood up remarkably well through a busy winter season, supporting both junior and senior football training.

Looking ahead, the development of the Kildare Campus continues beyond the current build. Planning is underway for additional pathways, more accessible play spaces, potential floodlighting for the soccer pitch, an athletics track, tennis courts and other exciting improvements. 

The investment in these facilities is extraordinary and reflects our commitment to providing exceptional learning and sporting environments for our students. To see such significant growth and development within just five years is something our entire College community can be proud of.
