Bulleen Cricket Club - Free Junior Cricket for Season 2026/27
Cricket Blast is an introductory program aimed at kids 3-7 years old. This is a short 1 hour session, filled with skill based games and fun, and will be coached by Eddie. Cricket Blast will be held on Tuesday Evenings @ Koonung Reserve Bulleen, 4:30-5:30pm, and commences Tuesday 10 November. Cricket Blast costs $76, fees which are paid to Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria, covering insurance as well as a participant kit (which includes bat, blast pack and Melbourne Stars or Renegades membership). In 2026/27, the Bulleen CC is not charging participants any additional club fees over the Cricket Australia/Victoria fees.

For any older kids (and the younger ones who are a bit more advanced than Blasters), we offer two other programs:
Under 10s (6-9 years old) playing a modified game of cricket called Super 7s, featuring 7 players per team on a short pitch with a soft ball, to give beginners maximum, equal opportunities to bat and bowl. There is a focus on skill development and participation, while simulating match play.
Under 12s (10-11 years old) is the next step in the junior cricket pathway, introducing 9-a-side teams and a slightly larger pitch with a hard leather ball to transition players toward traditional club cricket.
Our Under 10s and Under 12s play matches on Sunday mornings (starting 11 October), and train at Koonung Park on Tuesday evenings from 4pm-530pm (starting 6 October) with nets sessions and fielding and games on the oval. The timing of the training alongside the Blasters is perfect if you have kids in different age groups. Bulleen CC is offering free junior cricket in 2026/27, however ECA (the cricket association) does charge a player registration fee of ~$18 which covers insurance.

The Bulleen Cricket Club was established in 1960, and is a fantastic community club that offers participation from the youngest juniors, through to social mens and womens cricket, right up to competing at a high level. Our junior program includes a robust child safety program, and is run by volunteer coaches - players and parents - who all have WWCC's, with a dedicated child safety officer as well.
