Celebrating Student Achievement 

There’s always something to celebrate at WHSC! From academic achievements and sporting success to creative talents, leadership and personal accomplishments, we’re proud to recognise the wonderful achievements of our students. Take a moment to celebrate the dedication, effort and success of our students and see what they’ve been accomplishing across the College.

This week, we would like to congratulate Milan Stevanovic, who was a finalist for the 2026 Norman A. Smith Memorial Scholarship (NASS).

Milan attended the NASS Presentation Evening on Thursday, 10 September at the Ibis Hotel in Glen Waverley, alongside fellow finalists from Huntingtower School, Melbourne High School and South Oakleigh College. The evening was attended by members of the NASS Committee, the Waverley RSL Sub-Branch, the Mayor of the City of Monash, senior scholarship recipients, teachers and families.

Each finalist had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share a short speech before receiving a certificate and a book on the Shrine of Remembrance. The evening also marked the 40th anniversary of the Norman A. Smith Memorial Scholarship, with a special presentation exploring the history of the RSL and Glen Waverley. Senior scholarship recipients shared their career journeys and reflected on their experiences as Year 10 students, providing valuable inspiration for the current finalists.

The 2026 scholarship was awarded to Saina Mirpuri from Huntingtower School, while Milan proudly represented Wheelers Hill Secondary College as a finalist.

Reflecting on the experience, Milan shared that the evening was a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded people, meet distinguished members of the community and learn more about the scholarship and its purpose. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the College for nominating him, describing the experience as an excellent opportunity to expand his knowledge and engage more deeply with the wider community.
