Spring Break is Coming! Stay Connected & Be Well

Spring is finally here! Or, is coming slowly. The days are getting warmer, and the school holidays are just around the corner. It’s a great time to recharge, get outside, and spend time with the people who matter to you.

As we wrap up our R U OK? Day and Year 8 Wellbeing Day, taking care of yourself and each other is something we are encouraged to do whenever need be. Remember that checking in with someone doesn’t have to happen on just one day of the year. A quick “How are you going?” or “Are you OK?” can open up an important conversation.

If a mate seems a bit quieter than usual, stressed, or just not quite themselves, you may want to reach out and check on them. You don’t need to fix everything or have the perfect thing to say — listening and letting them know you’re there can mean a lot.

And don’t forget selfcare too. The holidays are a chance to rest, reset, stay connected and make time for things that help you feel good.

If you or one of your mates needs some extra support over the holidays, the Department of Education has mental health resources and support information available for students and families to looking after your wellbeing, recognising when someone may need support, and where to go for help.

We hope you enjoy the break and make the most of spring! See you all next term!
