Student Leaders

Meet our Specialist Subject Leaders.
PE Leaders - Amara and Ayaan
Our names are Ayaan and Amara, and we are excited to be this year’s PE Leaders! We really enjoy physical training, soccer, volleyball, and long jump because they help us get stronger and build stamina. This also helps us understand how athletes train. We both think being a leader means taking care of people, showing them how to use equipment, and sharing their ideas for sports activities with our teacher and maybe even bringing them into PE lessons!
As PE Leaders, we will help pick up equipment that is left out and ask students for their ideas. We can also organise sport events each term and find out how everyone feels about them. We believe a good leader listens to other people's ideas, tries to make them work, and motivates others in sports so they feel confident, especially when trying a new activity.
Performing Arts Leaders - Annyka and Gordon
Hi, I’m Gordon! I can play the piano, drum kit, and guitar. I have been in a drama skit, the
school band, and have been in the choir for three years. Hi, I’m Annyka! I can sing and dance. I was a lead singer in the school band back in 2024 and have been in the choir for four years.
Being Performing Arts Leaders means we have the responsibility to help Miss Brewer with clubs, 'ARPS Got Talent', drama skits, and choirs. Skills that are really important for this role are being responsible, being kind, and having a good sense of humour. We will also bring lunchtime clubs to life! We want students to get involved by putting on drama skits and talent shows to share all their talents.
We wanted to be Performing Arts Leaders because we were inspired by last year’s leaders, and we would love to celebrate everyone’s diverse talents at ARPS. We both enjoy learning how to dance, sing, and play instruments!
STEM Leaders - Sopanha and Yajing
We are Sopanha and Yajing, and we are very excited to be your STEM Leaders this year! Our
leadership role includes helping with lunchtime clubs and supporting students who need extra assistance. We also help Miss Meade with ideas.
We really enjoy STEM because it allows us to build and work together as a team to create something cool! In STEM, we love seeing people develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We especially enjoy the engineering part of STEM, and we will make sure everyone else gets to enjoy it too. Our goal is to help everyone find a part of STEM they love, even if it’s just a little bit.
STEM is all about teamwork, where students collaborate to make something amazing. These projects can then be showcased in an expo, where students share their work with others. As STEM Leaders, we aim to make learning fun and exciting for all students, from Prep to Year 6.
Environmental Education Leaders - Lydia and Kha
Our names are Lydia and Kha, and we are the 2026 Environmental Leaders!
We wanted to be Environmental Leaders because we care about keeping our school environment healthy, clean, and safe, and we love taking responsibility for our school animals. We also get the opportunity to train other students on how to care for the animals and look after their habitats.
As Environmental Leaders, we are in charge of caring for the farm animals, lizards, fish, birds, and insects. We also help keep our school rubbish-free and clean, and we come up with new ideas to make environmental activities fun and engaging, especially for younger students.
One idea we are excited to introduce is the Nude Food Competition. We are happy to be your Environmental Leaders and look forward to helping everyone enjoy and take care of our school this year!
Mandarin Leaders - Tepaka and Alyssa
Our names are Tepaka and Alyssa, and we are your 2026 Mandarin Leaders! We enjoy learning new languages, exploring different countries, and discovering other cultures. We wanted to be Mandarin Leaders because learning a new language at school is interesting, exciting, and fun.
As Mandarin Leaders, we hope to share our love of the language with other students. One idea we have is to run a lunchtime club related to Mandarin culture, so everyone can enjoy learning in a fun and hands-on way.
We are so excited to spend this year as your Mandarin Leaders and can’t wait to share our love of Mandarin with everyone!
Visual Arts Leaders - Mellina and Nelson
Our names are Nelson and Mellina, and we are excited to introduce ourselves as your Visual Art Leaders for 2026! We are really interested in drawing, sketching, painting, and all kinds of creative art because it helps us express ourselves and show our personalities.
We wanted to be Visual Art Leaders because we love exploring art and want to help other students do the same. Our leadership involves giving students opportunities to participate in art projects and competitions. We also want to get ideas from other curious students about what they would like to create.
As leaders, we encourage students to get involved in Visual Arts by putting up posters, sharing ideas, and participating in projects like painting the school cow or trying something new.
We hope to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of art in everyone at ARPS this year. We are looking forward to a fun and fantastic year together as your Visual Art Leaders!
Wellbeing Leaders - Florence and Alana
Our names are Florence and Alana, and we are your Wellbeing Leaders for 2026. We enjoy being Wellbeing Leaders because we get to support younger students and help them with wellbeing and friendship challenges.
As Wellbeing Leaders, we will look after the younger students, whether it’s helping to resolve friendship fires or comforting someone who needs support. We believe it is important that everyone feels safe and cared for at school. To make sure everyone is happy at ARPS, we will also plan special days and activities focused on wellbeing and mental health.
We are excited for a bright year ahead at ARPS and can’t wait to make a positive difference!
Digital Technologies Leaders - Tyson and Evelynn
Our names are Tyson and Evelynn, and we are excited to be your Digital Tech Leaders for 2026! We both really enjoy technology! We love coding, digital art, stop motion, and making Canva presentations. Our favourite part of being a leader is helping run assembly every fortnight, controlling the background, lights, and microphones, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
As Digital Tech Leaders, we want to make technology lessons fun, exciting, and creative for everyone. We also have an important role in keeping students safe online. This means teaching students how to protect their personal information, avoid cyberbullying, and use the internet responsibly so that everyone can enjoy technology safely.
We are excited to share our love of technology with everyone this year and to help make Digital Tech lessons exciting, safe, and inspiring!
