Celebrating Community at ARPS

Our RICH Value focus for this newsletter is Community, and what a wonderful way we celebrated this last night at our Family BBQ event.

It was a sea of families when you looked out across the senior side of the oval. We had our ‘Proactivity’ events set up where students were able to be active, running, jumping, rolling in the Zorbs and trying their hand at the inflatable mini golf and the ninja warrior course. Our team of face painters were kept incredibly busy, painting smiling faces with Hello Kitty, Batman and Spiderman running around the oval.

Trev and Tam from the company ‘Pimp My Balloons’ twisted up a storm, creating the most elaborate balloon creations. The pop of balloons could be heard across the oval, along with laughter and excitement as students watched their creations come to life. The silent disco, held in the hall, was filled with flashing lights and energy as students busted out their dance moves with the Virtual DJ.

Sausages, drinks and icypoles were enjoyed at a rapid rate, and we served over 1100 sausages to our families across the evening!

As the evening unfolded, it was wonderful to see our community enjoying time together, families connecting, students playing and laughter echoing across the oval. Moments like these remind us of the strong sense of belonging that exists at ARPS. Thank you to the staff who contributed their time and energy to ensure the event ran so smoothly.

Events like our Family BBQ remind us that schools are places where learning and community go hand in hand. They are spaces where relationships grow, families feel welcomed, and students see the important partnership between home and school in action.

Our sense of community extends beyond events like the BBQ. Each week we see this spirit continue through initiatives such as our Parent Group and Playgroup, where families have the opportunity to connect, share experiences and build supportive networks. These spaces help welcome new families and strengthen the relationships that make our school such a caring place to be.

Evenings like this remind us that community is built through moments of connection, big and small. It is something we create together every day, and it is one of the many things that makes ARPS such a special place.
