Performing Arts News

Term 1 has been off to a fantastic start in Performing Arts.

Our Foundation students have been singing and learning how to move safely around the room, with Sleeping Bunny proving to be a clear favourite.

Year 1/2 students have been learning the Heel and Toe Polka, an Australian bush dance with a partner. It has been wonderful to see students laughing, encouraging one another and building confidence through dance.

Year 3/4 have been developing their teamwork and dance skills through learning 'The Banana Peel'. Although the steps are quite complex, students have enjoyed watching videos of our current Year 5/6 students performing the dance back in 2022.

Year 5/6 students have been learning to play mallet instruments, including xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels. They have been practising borduns and improvising using the pentatonic scale.

A reminder that auditions for our ARPS Has Got Talent competition will be held at lunchtime next Wednesday and Thursday. It has been fantastic to see so many students already sign up — we are looking forward to seeing their talents on display!
