Hoop Time Basketball Tournament

Calling All Basketballers!
We are excited to announce that Fairfield Primary will again be entering FPS teams into this year’s Hoop Time tournament. Hoop Time is a primary school aged basketball tournament run by Basketball Victoria, which brings together school kids from across Victoria for single-day round robin tournaments held at local basketball stadiums.
- Teams are made up of Year 3 and 4 (Junior Level) and Year 5 and 6 (Senior Level) with both girls’ and boys’ teams.
- Dates of the tournaments are to be confirmed but will likely be in September in the last two weeks of term 3.
- Please note that this tournament is for students who currently play in a basketball team.
- We will require parents to assist with coaching / scoring on the day and the cost will be approximately $30 per student (for the buses) but will be confirmed once we have an idea of numbers.
Expression of Interest – Due 30 March
If your child is interested in participating, please email Adele Baker (FPS parent) with the following details by no later than Monday 30 March.

- If your child plays representative basketball.
- If your child would like to be considered for the All Stars team (see details below) provide their most recent basketball team and grade.
Basketball Victoria has created two divisions for the tournament:
- Future Stars Division: students that play in the Victorian Junior League 6 (VJL6) or below are eligible to play Future Stars.
- All Stars Division: players who compete in the VJBL in Victorian Junior League 5 (VJL5) or above must play in the All Star division. Any player who represents their association in the Junior Country Championships (JCC) in that year, must play in the All Star division.
