There will be no PBL Lessons for Weeks 7+8 as we'll be focusing on Book Day and will then move onto our Safety Network Hand.

Child Safety

In Week 8, as part of our ongoing Child Safety focus, we will revisit our Safety Network Hand.

Students will identify and talk about the trusted adults they can turn to if they feel worried, unsafe, uncomfortable or need help. Revisiting this strategy is an important part of keeping children safe because it helps children understand who they can talk to, where they can go and what they can do if something doesn’t feel right.

We encourage parents and carers to ask their child to share their Safety Network Hand with them at home. This provides a wonderful opportunity to talk together about the trusted adults in their child’s life and reinforce the message that they can always speak up and ask for help.

Regularly revisiting the Safety Network Hand helps children build the confidence and skills to speak up, ask for help and keep asking until someone listens and supports them.
