🌟 A Fabulous Term at Cowwarr PS 🌟

What a wonderful term it has been at Cowwarr Primary School! There has been plenty happening, with swimming, athletics, Book Week, our Gumbootathon, and lots of great learning happening in our classrooms.

Our teachers have been learning too! This term, we have been working on making our teaching even clearer and more supportive for students. A big focus has been on showing students what successful learning looks like, using worked examples and breaking learning into manageable steps. This helps our students understand what is expected, feel confident to have a go and become more independent learners.

We have also loved seeing our school values of Respect, Resilience, Responsibility and Self-Belief in action. Whether it has been encouraging a friend, having a go at something challenging, representing our school or celebrating someone else’s success, there have been lots of moments to be proud of.

As we head into the holidays, we hope everyone has the chance to rest, recharge and enjoy some time together. Catch up with friends and family, get outside, be active and hopefully enjoy some beautiful spring weather! ☀️🌷

💛 Respectful Relationships – Looking Ahead to Term 4 💛

Next term, across the school, we will begin Topic 7 of our Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) learning – Gender Norms and Stereotypes.

Through age-appropriate activities and conversations, students will explore fairness, inclusion, equality and respect, and consider how labels and stereotypes can sometimes influence what people feel they can like, do or be.

For our younger students, learning will focus on personal preferences, challenging labels, fair play and simple ways we can make sure everyone is included and treated fairly. For our older students, this learning develops further as they explore how gender stereotypes can influence opportunities and behaviour, the importance of equality and human rights, and how media messages and peer pressure can shape the way we think about ourselves and others.

The key message across all year levels is simple: everyone deserves to feel included, respected and free to be themselves.
