Student Voice

Student voice is important at St Mary’s. Through our Student SRC, Whole School Assemblies and within each classroom, students have regular opportunities to share their ideas, perspectives and feedback. Each classroom also has a suggestion box where students can contribute their ideas and suggestions, which are collected and reviewed. This provides another important avenue for students to have their voices heard and contribute to our school community.

Here are some of the suggestions that students have put forward at our Student SRC meetings and Whole School Assembly.

  • More craft activities at break times
  • Making squishies
  • Playdough for class
  • Better basketball ring for the quadrangle area

As a fun way to begin the term, students were asked, “If our classroom had a mascot, what would it be and why?”
