Our Year 3/4 students have had the most wonderful time on camp at Upper Plenty Conference Centre! Throughout camp, students participated in a range of exciting activities, including flying fox, archery, geocaching, tube sliding, hut building and rock climbing.

The students represented St Mary’s beautifully, demonstrating wonderful manners, positive attitudes and a willingness to try new experiences. It was lovely to see them building friendships and interacting so positively with the students from Holy Rosary. We are incredibly proud of how they conducted themselves throughout camp!

Literacy

In  Literacy, we have continued reading our class novel, His Name Was Walter. The students have been captivated by the storyline, which has also introduced them to a range of interesting and unusual vocabulary, including lofty, trivial, ghastly and transfixed.

In Spelling, we have been exploring suffixes and learning when and how to use apostrophes correctly.

Maths

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of decimals. Students have been exploring how decimals are used in everyday life, particularly when working with money and measurements. They have been practising reading, representing and comparing decimals, while building their confidence in applying these skills to real-world situations.

Inquiry

In Inquiry, we have been learning about the ancient city of Athens in Greece. Students explored the fascinating Greek myth explaining how Athens received its name. This story sparked many interesting discussions, with students sharing their ideas and asking thoughtful questions.

Presentation Practice

Our Year 3/4 students have been working incredibly hard in preparation for our upcoming school presentation! They are doing an excellent job of remembering their lines, learning new dances and rehearsing their scenes.

It has been wonderful to see their confidence growing with each rehearsal, and we are looking forward to sharing their hard work with you!
