We gathered yesterday with deep gratitude to celebrate our mums and the significant females within our lives — the women who give so much of themselves.
Motherhood is not just about caring for children in their youngest years; it is about shaping hearts, forming values, and nurturing the men our boys are becoming. Mums are often the first teachers of compassion, resilience, patience and respect. Through encouragement, correction, sacrifice and love, they help young men learn how to treat others with kindness and how to carry themselves with integrity.
In the life of a school, and particularly in the development of boys, the influence of mothers is profound. Mums model strength that is gentle, leadership that is service, and love that endures even when it is tested. They walk beside their sons through success and failure, reminding them that their worth is not measured by achievement alone, but by character.
As a faith community, yesterday's short liturgy reminded us that love is at the heart of all formation. The care mums show reflects the love we are called to show one another — through patience, forgiveness and generosity. It is within this love that young men learn to grow not only in knowledge, but in wisdom and faith.
To all the mums who joined us — and to those who could not be with us — thank you. Thank you for the role you play in helping our boys become thoughtful, courageous and compassionate young men.
Unsung Heroes
One of the aspects I am most proud and grateful for at St Virgil’s is the amazing people we get to work with. Many of them go about their work in extraordinary fashion, helping colleagues, students and parents to provide the best possible experience.
Unsung heroes are authentic and genuine in their approach and do not seek praise or accolades as the reasons behind their work. They can be best described as the following:

Above, Mrs Moschogianis and Mrs James, members of our amazing Admin team, always offering a welcoming environment to support our young men.
House Polos:
New House polo tops will be available from Tuesday, 19 May, providing students with a fresh opportunity to proudly represent their House. These polos are designed to strengthen House identity, build connection, and foster positive House spirit across the College.
Students will be permitted to wear these polos with their PE uniform. They will be used in conjunction with the current PE polo which must be worn for College representative sport. We look forward to seeing the colours flood our school grounds as the Houses complete for vital points. Short Sleeve : $45, Long Sleeve: $48.
