Connections to Country

Lowanna College Koorie Dance Groups
During Term 2, our Koorie students have been participating in Traditional Aboriginal dance sessions with Ashleigh Dalton and The Boorun Boys in preparation for our NAIDOC celebrations. This has provided students with the opportunity to strengthen their connection to culture, learn traditional dance practices and build confidence through performance. Our NAIDOC event will give students the chance to proudly showcase everything they have learnt throughout the term while celebrating culture, community and identity.
Community Campfire Conversations
On May 6th, members of the Lowanna College Koorie Team, Acting Principal Bernadette Cropper and staff from the Department of Education attended the Campfire Conversation alongside community members, staff and students. The evening provided a valuable opportunity to connect, share conversations and strengthen relationships while celebrating culture, identity and community. Thank you to everyone involved in creating such a welcoming and meaningful event.
