Stage 1

Year 1

Our Year 1 students have been busy bees over the last two weeks. IW enjoyed making Mother's Day cards and a present for their mums. Year 1 also loved buying presents from the Mother’s Day Stall last Thursday. A very big thank you to the P & C for all your hard work!

This term, our students have been learning how to write a persuasive piece of writing. We having been reading a variety of texts like ‘Duck, Rabbit’ and ‘Emily’s Perfect Pet’ to find the best pet! It has been lovely seeing our students share their opinions and reasons in their writing. I hope you enjoy reading some of 1W’s persuasive writing!

In Science, this term our students have been learning about our Living World. So far, our students have learnt about the external features of an animal and learnt how to group animals into different categories. We are all very excited about our excursion to Symbio Zoo this term.

It is lovely to see our Year 1 students wearing the Winter School uniform. Please make sure your child wears their school hat, school jacket and black school shoes.

Year 2

It has been a busy week for Year 2 as we are working hard in our classrooms writing narratives, learning about grouping and sharing in maths and changes in technology over time in History. We are hoping for nice weather as we look forward to our excursion to Kamay Botany Bay National Park next Thursday. We were still recovering from our big week celebrating  Mother's Day on Sunday May 10th.

Here are some examples of our beautiful gifts and letters - better than real flowers as they can be kept forever!  Year 2 were also lucky enough to attend some lessons in the library on the Zones of Regulation to help us deal with our feelings and how we respond to situations around us.
